Anxiety can present itself in numerous ways, from emotional and psychological difficulties to physical symptoms such as panic attacks. Often, anxiety is brought about through our perception of the world and its demands, whether accurate or not. Based on these presumptions, we can often feel trapped in these negative feelings. Counselling can offer a space to explore whether our perceptions are accurate and even if they are, how we might be able to change our attitude and behaviours to create a more balanced view of our situation.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), is a common treatment for anxiety and has been shown to be extremely effective. It challenges our automatic thinking and makes us aware of other options available to us and how we can use resources we already have to live more in line with the way we want.
